Vigilance is a keyword ability that enables creatures to attack without tapping. If they survive combat, they’ll be available to block the following turn.
Can a tapped creature with vigilance block?
If a creature with vigilance becomes tapped because of another spell or effect, it won’t be able to block.
Can you block vigilance twice?
There’s never a chance for the creature with Vigilance to be declared as an attacker a second time (unless some effect gives you a second combat phase during the same turn. See: Aurelia, the Warleader.) The benefit of Vigilance is that the creature can attack on your turn, and also block on your opponent’s turn.
When do you get vigilance on your turn?
At the beginning of combat on your turn, choose up to one target creature you control. Until end of turn, that creature gets +2/+0, gains trample if it’s red, and gains vigilance if it’s white. Azorius Knight-Arbiter can’t be blocked. Creatures can’t attack you or a planeswalker you control unless their controller pays for each of those creatures.
